The new Tamil channel, “Reconciliation channel” of Sri Lanka Rupavahini Cooperation (SLRC) was launched by President Maithripala Sirisena at the SLRC premises yesterday (20).
This new reconciliation channel is launched in order to propagate the programmes implemented by the government to build national reconciliation. The channel will telecast programmes to build national reconciliation and enhance understanding of the national, religious and the cultural identity of the Tamil speaking people.
Ministers Mangala Samaraweera and Mano Ganesan, State Minister A.H.M. Fowzie, Deputy Minister Karunarathne Paranawithana, Member of Parliament M.A. Sumanthiran, Angajan Ramanahthan, Cader Musthapha and foreign Ambassadors, representatives of international organizations, government officers and other distinguished guests, chairmen of Sri Lanka Rupavahini Cooperation, Attorney–at-Law Ravi Jayawardene, SLRC Director General, Thusira Malewwahanthri, Working Director Amal Gajamanage and other staff members were present on this occasion.
