The Deputy Speaker of the Maldivian Parliament and five cabinet ministers from the Maldivian government visited the Kurumba Maldives resort today (29) to hold discussions with President
Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
Those who met with the President included: Mr. Ahmed Nazim, Deputy Speaker of the Maldivian Parliament; Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Mohamed Saeed, Minister of Economic Development and Trade; Mr. Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon, Minister of Defence; Mr. Moosa Zameer, Minister of Finance and Planning; and Mr. Ali Ihusaan, Minister of Homeland Security and Technology.
They expressed their gratitude to President Dissanayake for his state visit to the Maldives. They conveyed their confidence that this visit, which marks the 60th anniversary of strong diplomatic relations between the two nations, will lay the foundation for deeper cooperation, broader understanding and an even stronger friendship in the future.
Several senior government officials from Sri Lanka, including Mr. Vijitha Herath, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, also participated in the discussions.
