President visits Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic ….

President Ranil Wickremesinghe visited the historic Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy and paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic, today (30).

Upon his arrival, President Wickremesinghe was received by the Mayor of Kandy Kesara Senanayake and several Ministers and MPs.

At the main Wahalkada of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, the President was received by the Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela and Basnayake Nilames of the Four Main Devalayas.

Subsequently, the President placed floral tribute to the Sacred Tooth Relic and engaged in religious observances. The President also received the blessings of the Maha Sangha.

After engaging in the religious rituals, President Ranil Wickramesinghe penned a note in the visitor’s book at the Temple.

The President is scheduled to call on Venerable Mahanayake Theros of the Malwatte and Asgiriya Chapters, this evening.

Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, Central Province Governor Lalith U. Gamage, Members of the Parliament Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Dilum Amunugama, Gunathilaka Rajapaksa, United National Party Deputy Leader, Presidential Advisor Ruwan Wijayawardena, UNP General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara, former Minister Navin Dissanayake, many politicians from the Kandy district, including the Head of the United Lak Vanitha Unit, Shanthini Kongahage, and Gampola Mayor Samantha Anura kumara, were present.
